How long have you been supporting the Foundation?
Since the beginning
How did you discover your passion ?
A friend lended me his snowboard, it didn’t go very well because it was mounted with the right foot forward. I turned the fixings and I adored the sensation. After a couple of turns in the powder snow, I knew I would be doing this for the rest of my life!
Which is your course ?
Scientific school in Morges, trading School in Lausanne, Certificate of cabinetmaker in 1994. After my military service I moved to the mountains to live close to the wild nature that I love. Small jobs, competitions, in all snowboard disciplines (alpin, boarder-cross, half-pipe, slope-style). In 1998, I participated in a freeride competition in Grave/La Meije. I won in front of all the stars that participated. Then I got invited to the Xtreme of Verbier, that I won at my first participation and everything connected like in a dream.
What are your best performances ?
On BMX : 4 titles of Swiss Champion in the Junior Category (1985-1992),
On Snowboard: 2 times winner of the Xtreme in Verbier (1998 and 2006), 2 times 2nd of the Xtreme in Verbier (2004 and 2005) and 2 times 3 rd in 2001 and 2007
What’s your best memory in your career ?
1999 a report expedition in the Indian Himalaya in February, then in the Spitzberg Islands in April. Contrasts and discovering. Endless virgin nature
What’s your worst memory in your career ?
All my freerider friends lost in the mountains or killed by an avalanche
